Ocean Springs (3-5) and St. Martin (4-4) take on one another this Friday at 7:00 PM on Ocean Springs's home turf. St. Martin will be looking to take advantage of a struggling Ocean Springs defense that has allowed an average of 27 points per game. Ocean Springs put forth a good scoring effort two games ago and even improved upon it last game, but that didn't prove quite enough. It and Pascagoula were almost perfectly matched up last week, but Ocean Springs suffered an agonizing 31 - 30 defeat. No one was more disappointed by the loss than senior Daveaunce Gaines, who put up a significant resistance with three TDs. This also marked the 3rd consecutive game in which Gaines rushed for 100+ yards. Junior Khalil Levy was an active contributor as well and provided 100 receiving yards. Meanwhile, St. Martin can now show off three landslide victories after its game last week. It took its contest against Biloxi last week by a conclusive 31 - 3 score. At 28 points, that marked St. Martin's largest margin of victory so far this year. The last time they met, Ocean Springs pulled ahead with a 21 - 20 photo finish. Can it repeat its success?
