ST. MARTIN STAR TO VISIT TOP 10 TEAM

With St. Martin receiver Kalem Reddix putting up some of the nation’s best numbers, the senior is getting more and more attention from some of the nation’s better football programs. One school who has been talking to Reddix in recent weeks is Miami, which is 4-0 and ranked No. 10 in the nation under new head coach Mark Richt. The Hurricanes invited Reddix to come down for an official visit and he will be on hand this Saturday when Miami hosts Florida State in one of the bigger games of the weekend. “They want me to come down, see the place and meet all the coaches,” Reddix said. Reddix is in the middle of a monster season for the Yellow Jackets with 57 catches for 1,221 yards and 17 touchdowns. He ranks second in the nation in receiving yardage, according to MaxPreps.com. Even Reddix admits to being somewhat surprised by his numbers, which have already far surpassed his 2015 production. “I didn’t know I was going to come out like that,” he said. “I’ve just been playing a full game, catching the ball and running with it.” Reddix has improved most with his ability to run with the ball after the catch, working his way through tackles and breaking big gainers. He had his biggest game of the season in St. Martin’s 63-55 win over East Central on Sept. 16, when he had 15 catches for 218 yards and a career-high six touchdowns.
